  CONSTITUITION
 
Established in the year 2003, The Indian Institution of Technical Arbitrators, (IITArb) with headquarters at Chennai, India, is an
All-India, non-profit, professional body of Engineers and Architects, registered under Societies Registration Act, 1975.
   
  MAJOR OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUITION
 
  • To popularise Arbitration as a cost effective and speedy alternative method of resolution of commercial disputes.
  • To impart training to members and others in various aspects of Arbitration by conducting short term courses, seminars, workshops, in-house programmers etc.
  • To carry out research in Arbitration.
  • Build up a specialised reference library
  • Take up Institutional Arbitration.
  • Offer Consultancy in Arbitration matters with special reference to preventive aspects.
   
  MEMBERSHIP
  Fellow Members - Degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture with 30 years of post-graduate job experience. Experience in Arbitration.
  Members - Degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture with 15 years of post-graduate job experience. Experience in Arbitration.
  Associate Member - Degree or Equivalent in any branch of Engineering / Architecture with minimum of 2 years Professional Experience after graduation.
  Student Member - Any bonafide student of a recognised University/Collage undergoing a Degree course an any branch of Engineering / Technology/Architecture.
  Presently there are 223 members, spread all over India, who have held or are holding senior positions in Government, Public Sector and Private Sector undertakings.
   
  STATE AND LOCAL CENTRES OF THE INSTITUTION
  State Centres and Local Centres of the Institution are functioning at the following places :
  • Andhra Pradesh State Centre, Hyderabad.
  • Delhi State Centre, Delhi.
  • Karnataka State Centre, Bangalore.
  • Kerala State Centre, Kochi.
  • Maharashtra State Centre, Mumbai.
  • Madurai Local Centre, Madurai.

  • Training in Arbitration
  • Supply of panel of Arbitrators.
  • Providing facilities for conducting Arbitration Proceeding.
  • Institutional Arbitration
  • Consultancy in contract drafting, control management and Arbitration
   
  OFFICIAL PUBLICATION
  The Institution publishes a quarterly bulletin "The Technical Arbitrator", which is circulated among members and others interested in the subject.
   
  BUILDING FUND
  A Building fund has been launched for acquiring own premises for the Instituition.
   
  CODE OF CONDUCT
  The Members are bound by strict "Code of Conduct ".
